Reviewing the Bike, not the shipping- Excellent First BikeDec 20, 2009
By Mama1011 First, I'd like to urge fellow reviewers to rate products based on the product, not on the seller, price, or shipping. Each of those problems can be addressed within the review or to the specific party involved, but it tells nothing about the product and giving a rating considering these factors doesn't give an accurate account of the ITEM, which is what the rating is supposed to address. That being said, i bought this bike for my 4 year old. It doesn't come with a kickstand, which isn't a big deal at the present because she needs the training wheels. Kickstands are easy to find, but I would prefer having one in the box. The bike is beautiful and durable. It was fairly easy to assemble and like all children's bikes, it is a bit hefty with a shipping weight of 30 pounds. A bike for a 3-6 year favors sturdiness over speed. My daughter loves it. I will agree with other reviewers about the hand brake (caliper) being stiff and difficult for a child to operate. Overall, I would recommend this bike to the value conscious parent and especially those tired of pink. The details are perfectly girly without being frilly and make this bike stand out and up long after "bratz," "barbie," "my little pony," and "princess" bikes lose their appeal.
About Shipping: I bought this bike from Amazon and, admittedly, I made them send a replacement because the first bike was scratched and dirty. the box looked as if it had been thrown from plane, train, and truck. I gave Amazon a bit of a tongue lashing concerning the condition in which a child's product, excuse me, any product, should be shipped in to maintain a buyer's loyalty. In the end, problem solved. My review is not colored by price or shipping issues because neither is directly attributable to the product itself.

Mongoose Pizazz Girl's bikeApr 03, 2009
By Brian Tomes The bike is very durable, easy to maneuver, and to assemble. The only flaws I find is that the hand brake is extremely hard to squeeze (I'm her dad and it takes a lot of effort for me!). The default pedal brakes are sufficient and my 5 year old quickly figured out how to brake by reversing the direction of her peddling. The other downside is its weight. I'd say easily 50 pounds of solid metal which is about the same weight of my adult graphite bike. But again, you are getting something very durable.

Mongoose Pizazz 16" of poor qualityDec 27, 2010
By drawn by hand I had ordered this bike for X-mas and it was delivered very fast. Box was not sealed anymore and when I pulled it all out it had minor scratched plus I found no instructions. Instructions or lack thereof were not a problem for me as I assembled it in about 20 minutes. The problem is the materials used in the bike itself.
Warning: NEVER purchase a bike with plastic rims. I had not caught that when I ordered it. The plastic rims were warped making the back wheel stick to the handbrake pad and lock up. Now if it was hard for me to get the wheel rotating, how would a 4 year old be able to do it. The back wheel was already affixed right out of the box (crooked I might add). No adjusting would be able to make it work due to the warping of the plastic.
Back it goes. A real shame as it's very cute but a company shouldn't cheap out on one of the most important parts. Please make sure you get alloy rims.

Poor QualityDec 21, 2009
By Michael The bike arrived very quickly but was damaged. The box was torn up and had a hole in it. After removing the contents from the box assembly was difficult. The manual included was not for the bike being assembled they were fro generic Mongoose bikes and offered little help. Finally, after many hours trying to align the rear wheel I realized it was not out of alignment but was not balanced. It is a plastic rim so it was hard to tell, but the rim was warped. So I am returning the bike and purchasing one from a local store pre-assembled.

Great bike!Oct 01, 2009
By M. Goldman We purchased this bike for my daughter's 3rd birthday. It is an adorable bike. My husband assembeled it in well under a half an hour. The only thing I don't like about it is the hand brake. I wish it didn't have one.
