It's a toy...and the kids love itJun 04, 2009
By Kris Krinkle I purchased the Star Wars Luke Skywalker Light Saber as a gift last Christmas. I was happy with the order-to-ship time, packaging, and I got what I paid for: I better than cheesy light saber. This is not to say it is bad, rather to say that I wasn't expecting a great deal from it (have you seen the junk that is available out there?).
The bottom line: The kids LOVE this toy. They run around the back yard burning off 1000's of calories with this thing. They burn off energy and their creative minds go nuts playing with this toy. Amazingly, it has survived to this day through pretty rough handling (I thought it would have folded-over or been torn to pieces by now, but it has held up nicely).
Impressive. Great for the price. Get one if you have kids that like Star Wars and they need a creative energy outlet.

Looks quite cheapOct 16, 2010
By Trinity I ordered this lightsaber as THE accessoire for my sons Halloween costume. My son is only 20 month old and he throws things around quite a bit so I went ahead and ordered the cheapest one I could find. Didn't want to spend lots of money on something he is going to break rather sooner than later. So I guess in a sense I didn't expect to receive a grade A toy in the mail to begin with. However I wish it was a little less cheap looking. It really looks nothing like the photo from the sales page. I did post a picture of it on the page as well.
But the bottom line is that my son loves playing with it, he is fascinated by the fact that it glows, he hasn't managed to break it just yet and it looks great with the costume. So I guess I got a pretty okay deal for my 13 bucks. If you are just looking for a cool toy for your kids this really isn't bad.

Don't buy thisOct 29, 2011
By Samantha The screw to hold the batteries in was stripped right out of the box. When batteries were inserted the light didn't work, then the stupid sword fell off. I expected cheap stuff, but this really is amazingly trashy.
Awful quality...Jan 06, 2012
By Madelyn Walker When this arrived the lightsaber blade was bent. The lights and sounds didn't work at all. As other reviews are saying, it looked very cheap. It didn't have a trigger to extend the blade, you had to manually pull it out. It was very disappointing--a lightsaber with no light? If you just want a cheap base with a blue extendable plastic tube--no lights or sounds--this will be good. Otherwise I suggest that you buy a different lightsaber.

"lots of love"
This is not recommended for under 3 years of age but I supervise my 16 month old daughter when she explores this toy. I bought it as a prop to take pics of her with it. The longevity of this toy is questionable and it could be a little better quality. The screw to put the battery cover back on is a little difficult as well.
