Perfect for Living Room Basketball on a JustinTyme HoopSep 04, 2011
By Bobbo This is a great ball for indoor basketball in the house -- it is perfect with a wall-mounted JustinTyme hoop. It has some sort of a material or core that makes it bounce reasonably so you can dribble, unlike regular foam balls. Also, it has a reasonably soft surface so that it doesn't scratch or mark walls. The 6-inch size has pros and cons. It's a little small for the hoop, which is fine for the little ones needing a bit smaller ball/hoop ratio so they'll make more shots (or for you to feel like Michael Jordan, swishing shots from everywhere). This smaller size is also good for the kids to hold onto and also shoot it. The larger, 7-inch size, version is good for a more standard ball/hoop ratio. The uncoated surface is ok. That is probably what makes it not mark up the walls. The surface does make it tend to pick up bits of dirt and such from the ground and carpet; but that surface gunk can be easily wiped off when it gets to be too much (gross). I suppose the ball can also be an indicator of when its time to vacuum also. It would be great if the surface had lines drawn onto it to make it look like a basketball. Overall, this is a great ball for indoor hoops.

My son loves itJun 26, 2011
By T_Dek This was a cheap present for my son but one of his favorites. Although it's about 1 inch larger than he wanted he uses it to play basketball indoors because it's very bouncy.
