3Limited interactivity, but fun for small girls.Jul 22, 2010
By P. Hamm "p-squared"
What a great idea for a kid who wants a dog, but you don't want or can't have one. It walks kinda slow, so as the kid gets older he won't enjoy it as much. the interactivity is a bit unpredictable (like a dog), but you pet the dog's hand and it coos a bit or barks happily. Very fun.

My beef with this product is that it would be a bargain at 30 dollars and probably fairly priced at 40, but [...] is an awful lot for something that does as little as this product. It's way over-priced and that's the reason I give it only 3 stars.

It does come with batteries installed and it's turned on, so it barks when you move the box. That gave me a serious giggle as it sat in the back of my car, barking when I made a turn.

I think a 4 or 5 year girl will like it. I think a boy won't as much, and I think 7 or 8 is probably too old.

4Fun but not a lot of funAug 26, 2010
By Thomas Paul
GoGo the walking pup is cute and is quite a bit of fun. It responds to being pet in a way that makes you want to pet it more. We have seen some people react to it as if it was a real dog, trying to call him and rubbing him on his neck. If you ignore GoGo it will whine for attention but then go to sleep after a little while. If you move near one of its sensors it will wake up and bark for attention. My son, who is autistic, enjoys playing with him and petting him and even trying to feed him. He has been a little rough with GoGo and GoGo has endured the abuse without any problems. I think the long term enjoyment of GoGo is probably limited because GoGo really can only do so much. But don't be surprised if you find yourself petting GoGo while he is sitting on your lap and you're watching TV.

1Broken after one day!Nov 17, 2010
By Mommy of Two Little Darlings
My daughter was dying for this for her 4th birthday. It was the only thing she wanted. She even had a dream she had gotten it a few nights before her party and was so sad when she got up in the morning to get him and he was not there. Anyway, she got it at her birthday party and she was so happy. She walked around with it and took him everywhere. She "walked" him a little but mostly carried him around because he is quite slow moving. She was so sweet and gentle with him like it was a real puppy. That night we shut him off and put him away. In the morning as soon as she woke up she went over to play with him and he wasn't working, he would make noises, but not walk. I figured the batteries were going dead so I changed them, and then it would do nothing. So I put the old batteries back in and nothing. I worked on him a little over the next few days changing batteries, making sure the cord was all the way in and reading the manual and internet for anything to help me fix her new best friend. However he would not work properly. At one point he started making noises again and would not stop barking like he was having a meltdown. My daughter was so sad, when we brought him back to the store she did not even want to get another one and try it again. Everytime she sees the commercial on TV she has a sad little pout and says "I wish he worked." I had seen other reviews before I bought it about the same thing happening to others, but she wanted it so badly. Just thought I should warn others.

5Batteries ARE included!Jul 20, 2010
By reg
I looked on the product page before this arrived to see what kind of batteries it would need. I didn't see any mention of this, so I was pleased it came with a set of batteries. It does require 4 "C" batteries, if you want to have extras on hand.

I was glad that my tester was here when this cute pup arrived. My grandson is 3years, 1 month. The recommended age begins at 4. This is probably a pretty good recommendation. While a younger child will be interested, there are things they just won't be able to do. For example, for it to do a half-turn, you need to hold down the forward button at the same time as either the left turn button or the right turn button. I also hope the leash controls are sturdy because it has been dropped several times as well as being used to drag the dog.

This dog wasn't just built for walking using the remote control. If you pet her on the head, she will make excited noises while moving her head up and down and wagging her tail. There are even sensors on the sides. This dog might even whine to beg you to pet a little longer! If you stop playing for about a minute, the dog will go into "daydreaming" mode and won't move or make sounds. Activate any sensor and it will wake up. They recommend using the off position for the switch on the bottom to save on battery usage. While on the subject of sensors, the dog will stop moving when you pick it up. If it won't move forward, you should check to see if the "pickup" switch is turned on. It's on the right rear wheel.

I think my grandson is having a good time with this pup. He just "walked" it until it's in front of my dog's food and told it to eat! He's really into imaginary play and this will add to that. He walks his dogs with his dad frequently.

2Very DisapointedNov 28, 2010
By bvohs
I purchsed this for my daughter's fourth birthday. It was the cutest thing I have seen. Since we live overseas and are military and travel alot, we can not have a real dog. So this would be a great idea for when we get back state side. Well everyhting was going well. Then realized my daughter was crying b/c the dog stopped working . I changed the battries and thought ok maybe that will work. NOPE!! Not even three days into her playing w/the dog it stopped. It seems as the chip the is in the collar just stopped working. I tryed to return it they said contact the company. So here I am waiting on a response.
